Hannah Hare Rabbit

Hi everyone. I hope everyone is having a great Sunday. I just finished up "Hannah Hare". She is a Sweet Pea Primitives pattern. I am selling her for $18.00. Her legs and arms are sticks and she is holding her embroidered Easter egg. Her dress and hat are made from blue checked homespun that has been coffee stained and she has ruffles everywhere. Friday Afternoon

Just wanted to post a few more pictures of a couple of prim items that I got finished today. I have three sizes of "spring angels". They are coffee stained and wrapped with cheesecloth. They are then wrapped with jute cord and I added rusty bells and safety pins. They have old button eyes, needle felted raw wool for hair and a vintage quilt piece for their wings. There are 3 sizes. Small $5.00, Medium $6.00 and Large $7.00. I also finished some rabbit ornies. They are prim perfect and would look great in a bowl or tucked in a cupboard. They sell for $5.00 each. Friday Morning

Good Morning. I was able to finish this up early this morning. I am offering this handmade primitive rabbit. He has been coffee stained, painted, baked and rubbed with cinnamon. He is holding his prim tulip. Included with the rabbit are two herb bags and the 3 peg hanger. This would look great in your prim home. I have attached a piece of rusty wire to the 3 peg board for easy hanging. All of this is selling for $24.00. I hope to get a few more items finished today and will post these as well. Easter Goodies

Hello. I finally found some time to get some projects together. A friend who doesn't want her name mentioned (sorry Ellie)came over and helped me stuff yesterday. We got quite a bit accomplished. I am including some pics of some Easter prims that I am offering. I just love the way the carrots turned out with the sweet annie tops. These would look great in an old bowl or old scale as in the picture.I am selling these carrots for $3.00 each. The tails on both types of rabbits are needle felted raw sheep's wool. Each rabbit is coffee stained because I love the look of aged material. The four rabbit bowl ornies are $5.00 each and the rabbit with the wooden legs sells for $12.00. Good Morning. I made this primitive wall hanging this morning. It holds your needful prims including a twig brush, and small homespun hand towel and some gathered sweet annie. It measures 13 inches wide and 14 inches high. It is made using an old piece of canvas that was coffee stained. This piece hangs by a old twig. The cost for this piece is $16.00. Good morning. Here is a picture of one of the penny mats that I have completed. It measures 15 inches x 17 inches. All of the pennies are made using wool and blanket stitched to an old piece of canvas that I grunged up.The piece of canvas was then stitched using a primitive whip stitch to a golden piece of wool felt and all edges were blanket stitched to finish it off. I am selling this piece for $35.00. This and other pieces are for sale on www.thecrowscorner.com.

Hello. I just wanted to say thank you to everyone that has visited the blog, our online store and our picture trail. If you don't have the addresses for our other two sites, they are www.picturetrail.com/thecrowscorner and www.thecrowscorner.com. I absolutely love to read Somerset magazines. The magazines are full of inspiration. I love the picture of the embellished keys. I took a picture of some of my keys and old locks and am going to alter them today, inspired by the picture in the magazine. I am working diligently on our handmade Easter items. Life is such a beautiful thing I feel so blessed to have my family, friends and the ability to create. Saturday, my friend Cecile came over(she has soooooo much talent)and we altered some small coin envelopes. I am using these in my shop as a gift to all of our customers. Each envelope will hold a business card and an invitation to our spring open house, which is April 30th & May 1st. I always try to have something special for friends as they stop by. Let me know what you think of our envelopes. I hope Cecile can come over again, lots more to make. lol

Thursday, Febvruary 18th

Does anyone else think time is really going fast. I can't believe it is the middle of February. I sent out some emails and hope everyone gets a chance to let me know what you think of our blog. Remember to become a follower and when we get 50 we will have a drawing for our followers and give away a huge basket of handmade primitives, something for every season. I worked in the shop for quite awhile yesterday and brought in some new items. I have been very busy with cutting, sewing etc. to fill the shop with some unique primitives plus we are making our Easter primitives, ornies and bowl fillers. Note to myself...... always use spell check. To those of you who received my email, lets say that I was using my "primitive alphabet". lol Well I hope to have my wool pennies done today and I will post a picture and list them on line, hopefully today or tomorrow. Well back to work, I need to do payroll for Subway and update our employee handbook. I hope you have a great day!

New Pics

Here are the new pictures as promised. My husband went to an auction and found these wonderful crocks. The 4 gallon crock has the "bee sting" on it and the 2 gallon crock is a wonderful advertising crock. I wonder if these will make it to the shop. lol

I love the look of primitive pears. Two of the pears are made from warm and natural and one is made from muslin. The sign is made from a piece of scrap wood. There is a rusty safety pin on one to add a little something. These look great in a cupboard or in wooden bowls as shown.
I made five eggs and a chicken from and old quilt. I did not grunge these. I really liked the look of the bright fabrics.
Last but not least is and hand hooked stool cover. The stool is painted in a dry blue paint and distressed and I attached this primitive floral hooked top. I absolutely love to rug hook. I think there should be a contest to see who has the most rug hooking projects started but not completed. I think I might win.
I enjoy reproduction early cross-stitch prints and found a wonderful pattern sight on esty.com. The name of the shop is County Rustic Primitives. I ordered 3 of her epatterns today and can't wait to receive them. If you get a chance, check her out. Well I have about 10 of my original patterns drawn out waiting to be cut. I hope to get that done today and be able to start stuffing tomorrow. I have been working on some primitive wool penny hanging mats and hope to be able to share them with you soon. I had a couple of friends visit over last weekend and they had so many wonderful and creative ideas. Definitely a super creative swap. Another blog to check out is tarnished and tattered. A new look

Hello, I have gotten up some courage and an trying to give my blog a new look. I have gotten a lot of inspiration from so many of you. Thanks, I hope you can take a moment and let me know what you think. I will back in a little while with some new pics and some Easter items I have been working on. This is so much fun.

I guess I haven't been on my blog since last Saturday. Crazy week. My husband went to an auction on Saturday and found some wonderful treasures for the shop. New Tote Bag

Happy weekend. We got a little bit of snow last night. I have been busy this morning working on all sorts of primitive bowl fillers. I hope to have them listed on www.thecrowscorner.com this week. I wanted to show you one of my totes. I try to make each one individual. I layer a lot of vintage photos, postcards, laces, old cigar labels, scrapbook paper, copies of vintage tins, sheet music, vintage maps, pictures of birds, old tage, books, stamps, (I love everything by Tim Holtz) anything vintage that I find interesting. I make a collage and then use "Quick Fuse" photo sheets from Jo-Ann Fabrics. I tried printing my own with an ink jet printer onto muslin, but have not found a way to heat set the color properly. I hope you can see the layers in the photos. I am designing many different styles and will have them listed on our on line store soon I hope. Each tote comes with a small angel that I have made attached to a tag wishing "Primitive Blessings". I figure, we can all use an extra angel and prayer at sometime in our lives. Let me know what you think. I am very lucky, my wonderful husband is out in our shop so I can stay inside and create. I don't know what I would do without him. Grandma Crow & Blackened Beeswax Candles

Hello. It has been a busy week but woke up this morning and it is snowing. No better excuse to stay inside and create. I am putting pictures on of two items we have for the shop. Our primitive blackened beeswax candles and grandma crow. I also want to say Happy Valentines Day. Can you believe it is February already. I am starting some primitive rabbits today and hopefully will post pics this weekend. I am also working on some more of my totes. Each tote and bag comes with a small primitive angel that I make.
