New Projects

Just wanted to take a moment to say hello and tell everyone who reads my blog, or takes a peek at our on-line store, thanks. We are busy working on new items for our Spring Open House which is Friday March 30th from 11-6 and Saturday, March 31st from 10-2. For those of you who don't know, we have Cynthia Lancia (former co-owner of Creations in Fort Wayne)as a new artist ay The Crows Corner. She is busy making primitive items that will look great in your home. We have antiques, cupboards, old fabrics, pincushions, dolls, coverlets and so many more items. Another item that we will be highlighting is Jewelry by Jess and The Crows Corner Mercantile, with hand metal work by Jeneatte. We will be opening our shop on Etsy in March. We also have candles by Willow Haven Candles, with one of her new scents "Old Crow". May I say this is my new personal favorite.

As you can see, I have baskets with old fabrics and civil war reproduction prints just waiting to be used in one of my creations,
We are also going to have Americana and dolls, old bobbins, rag balls, wood bowls, stitchery, trenchers and some red, white and blue fabric form the early 1900's that was used as campaign banners. This fabric is just wonderful and would make a great statement draped on a window or displayed anywhere. We will have cut pieces ready to go and we can also cut custom sizes off the original spool.
So we hope to see you at our Open House and again thanks for stopping by, Blessings, Lynda

Red Fridays

In support of my son and others serving in the military. I would ask that anyone who can, wear red on Friday's to support our troops until they all come home. I am working on some pins that I will give away in support of wearing red on Fridays. When they are finished, let me know if you would like one. I think they will look something like this; If you are interested, just click on my email link and I will have one for you to pick up at The Crows Corner shop. If I have to mail the button, I will have to charge for postage. Thanks, Lynda

Blue

I love old textiles. I had bought some old fabric and cutter quilts from a friend of mine a few years back. I don't know why, but my brains was no showing any signs of creativity. I started looking through all my fabric that I have in totes and I found the most wonderful old blues and reds. Here is a sneak peek of some of the pieces.

These will definitely go into some very special pin keeps, dolls and stitcheries. I will post pictures of the wonderful reds when I get more of them unpacked. Who thought cleaning out a tote could be that exciting. Blessings, Lynda
I have been very busy finishing up year end stuff for our two Subway franchises. Now I can get back to doing what I love.

I did manage to spend a little time re-doing a room in our home that belonged to my youngest daughter Jeneatte. She took a promotion at work and has moved. It is wear I will do my rug hooking. I will try to post some pictures later this week. I really love how it turned out. It is very prim and has many of my favorite things.

My other daughter Jessica (aka Jewelry by Jes) has some great new designs in the works. I will get some of her new items posted here and on our online store.

I hope you can stop by to take a look (and maybe purchase) our 2012 calendar. This is the first year that we have made a calendar. I will post a little peek of some of it. These are a few of the pictures that are on the top of the calendar. It is a full size calendar with plenty of room to write important dates. The calendar has all of our open houses and our 2nd Annual Gathering On The Lawn already listed for you. The cost is $4.00.

Also, A Primitive Place magazine should be here by Valentine's Day. Let me know if you want me to hold an issue for you.

Our new artist Cynthia has some great handcrafted items in the shop and I have also been busy with Valentine, Easter and some stitchery and pin keeps.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by and hope to see you soon! Blessings, Lynda
