Happy Weekend.

Sorry, I haven't posted for awhile. Last weekend was rough. Our dog "Courkie" passed away. She had been with our family for about 14 years. she was adopted from our local animal shelter. The 3 cats and her brother "Fritz" really miss her. She was a very special dog and we will keep in in our hearts forever.
I finally finished the tote that I had talked about. It turned out really well. Silly me, I put it in the shop without taking a picture to post and it sold first thing this morning. Believe me, I am not complaining. I have 7 more cut out in different styles and have started my Leprechaun named "Riley". I did get to talk to my son today who is in the US Army. Remember to keep all of the troops in your thoughts and prayers. I will keep creating this weekend and hope to post some more pics on the blog. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

New Primitive Word Hearts

Good morning. Do you ever have that kind of day when your creative energy seems to be on overload. I think that is what is happening to me today. I finished up this bowl of Primitive Word Heart Ornies. Perfect to tuck in your prim cupboard, a bowl or a surprise for a friend. Something else that really has me excited is I found a way to "print my own material". I tried using the sheets from Jo-Ann fabrics at $3 each, but they left a plastic like feeling to the project. After a learning curve and some frustation, I found a way to use any media (collage, vintage postcards, maps, vintage material really any kind of empherma will work) and print what I want onto muslin, I am currently working on some spring totes. The first color palette I am working with are these gorgeous greens. I hope that the camera could really do justice to the fabric. The panel that I printed to go on the front of the tote is a really neat. I will try to list it later today when finished or tomorrow. I hope everyone has a creative day. And please tell a friend about our blog.

Primitive Valentine Bowl Fillers

Good Morning. I finished these late last night and listed them on our online store. They are about 9 inches high. They were painted, and then coffee stained for prim perfection, I then sanded them lightly, wrapped them in rusty wire with a rusty bell attached. I am also working on some other bowl fillers and some primitive hanging hearts. Let me know what you think. I will try to get the other hearts finished today and get them listed also. My good friend Denise stopped by today and brought over some of her handmade items. They include this grungy bear, heart pinkeep and a barn cat with a wearable primitive heart pin. Hope everyone has a great day and tell a friend about our blog. Thanks bunches.

Happy weekend everyone! We have been busy. Thought I would post some pics of a couple of new items we have been working on. We found this old cupboard with its original paint at an auction. I really love this piece, would of liked to keep it in the house. We have a new primitive doll who is holding her heart close to her and some hearts made with muslin, coffee stained with vintage quilt pieces sewn on top. I added a small "love letter" with a vintage button and some old script from a really cool stamp. Attached to the love letters with a rusty safety pin is a miniature heart. Have been busy trying some new techniques, and am really glad to see we now have 7 followers. Tell a friend because when we get 50, we are going to have a giveaway. A basket full of handmade primitives. Hope everyone has a great weekend.
